Season 1 Locations

The first season was shot 2019 mainly in London.

In this article i want to share my knowledge about movie locations they used in the first season as there is only little information about this on the web. During my research i mainly focussed on places that you can actually visit and not some indoor sets. Also the Scenes i did my reseach on are all in some way important for the story.

One of the main Locations in Season 1 is the Point Blanc Building and surroundings. I didnt find the exact location. The only information i was able to find on the web was Sinaia, Romania. Hours of Google Earth topography research were unsuccessful. I also asked in the Alex Rider Reddit but apparently noone knows where it was shot. In short i wasnt successful but I could write a whole Blogpost just about this single reseach ;-).
UPDATE: A User on Reddit called feketebab314 found the Location and informed me. I added the location below.

The rest of the Locations are partly already on the Web but the majority of it wasnt. It was quite some work for some to find them. Others were found in less than a minute. What also helped me a lot was the awesome coverage of Google Street View in the UK.

At the end of this page you will find a map with all locations of this season for a better overview. For each Location an adress or coordinates for more precision will be provided.

Alex's House and surroundings

Alex's House is located in 42 Reverdy Rd, London. Apart from the house a lot of other scenes were also shot in the surroundings like when Alex get kidnaped or when they leave the house for Pizza in the last scene of episode 8. Very likely some indoor scenes were also shot in that house. I cant tell if all or just some.

Alex's and Tom's School

The school called Brookland School in the series is located at Wood Ln, London (51.51887491898868, -0.22931378335095928). In reality its called Ark Burlington Danes Academy. Again i cant tell which scenes were shot in the school but i guess the most.

Point Blanc

The outdoor overview Scenes of Point Blanc were shot at the Complexul Sportiv Național Piatra Arsă, Sinaia, Romania (45.383739229742126, 25.487610582309866). The main building is computer generated however most of the surrounding buildings exist in reality. Many thanks for the amazing overview to feketebab314!

"The Department"

The gates of "The Department" are located at Coke Street, London (51.51542749524034, -0.06598005822633317). Once again i cant tell where the parking Lot/Indoor scenes where shot but i guess somewhere else.

Storage House

The Storage House where Ian died in is an old Millenium Mill located at Rayleigh Road, London (51.504891669837136, 0.02895609799106419). I guess most of the indoor scenes were also shot in that building. Unfortunately it looks very locked down and i think visiting on its own is not possible.

Bankside Beach

On the bank located right at Bankside Beach (51.50859164052832, -0.10041390252958649) multiple scenes mostly with Alex, Mrs Jones and Jack were shot.

2 Bankside

At 2 Bankside, London outdoor scenes of Tom visiting Roscorp Media were shot. On top of the Building is in the series the logo of Roscorp Media. I guess they added it with CGI.

Thames Path

At Thames Path underneath London Blackfrias Train station (51.50862516794345, -0.10306384830670605) the scene with Mrs. Jones and Wolf was shot.

Redcross Way

At 18 Redcross Way, London Yassen makes the ambush in order to kill Dr. Greif in the car. I find it very interesting to see how different the street looks on Google Street View.

Alex Chases "The Department" through London

The Chase scene was filmed at multiple locations through London. I found these 2:

Location 1 is at White Post Ln, London (51.54277100421926, -0.02186346908848395). The Car of Alan Blunt makes a left turn and Alex drives parallel to them along channel.

Location 2 is at Andrews Rd, London (51.53560235871424, -0.06200148173177867). In the Series it looks like the channel drives along is still the same as in the previous scene however it isnt. Another thing i noticed during this research: Just have a look at the 2 scenes. The first one was shot on a clear day and the second one was shot on an overcast day even tho the chase is supposed to happen within a couple of minutes. Through the color grading/postprocessing both scenes look similar despite the different lightning conditions.

The Friend Estate

The house of the family Friend is the Osterley House located in Osterley Park, Jersey Rd, Isleworth (51.48956895357256, -0.35145301443565186). This place is open to the public for a visit!
