A sign of life and my recent Trip to Paris!
Hello everyone! I hope you are well!
I just wanted to give you a small sign of life from my side. My Trip to
London didn't happen as I initially thought last year and also won't happen
this year, however It's still on my list! During Easter Holidays, I had the
chance to spend some Days in Paris and therefore visited some Locations of a
Film, that has a very high rank in my personal Movie Ranking.
The Film I am speaking of is Inception (2010) by Christopher Nolan. Some
scenes of the Film were shot in Paris, so I visited these Locations and made
some comparisons Shots of the Film with my taken Photos on Location. Here I
will only mention the scenes, I found most interesting to visit and compare.
If you want to have an impression of all Scenes of the Film, including those
not filmed in Paris, I can very highly recommend you this Video
of one of my most favorite Movie Locations Channels on YouTube!
Opening shot Training Facility
After Cobb recruited Ariadne in Paris, we see Arthur entering the
Facility they use for Training in Paris. The scene is shot at
Passy Metro Station in Paris and is very easy to find. The
indoor scenes however were shot elsewhere as the room Arthur opens in
the Film is nothing more than a storage for Workers of the city of
Paris who keep the streets clean, so nothing of interest.
Cafe scene
When Cobb and Ariadne enter the dream world for the first
time, they sit in a café in Paris called Café Debussy. In
reality, this café is called Il Russo and is located
at 6 Rue César Franck. In the streets close
to the café, multiple scenes were shot, as you will be able
to see in the following comparison pictures. I tried my best to colorgrade my photos as close as possible to the color grading in the film. I am no color grading expert, so it looks a bit odd here and there but better, as if i wouldn't have used colorgrading at all. Hope that's not too disturbing for you!
Inception Bridge
The Scene in which Ariadne creates the Bridge is located
on Pont de Bir Hakeim very close to Metro Station Passy. The
Bridge is quite busy and i didn't want to disturb any pedestians and
ciclyst so I only took a handfull of photos on location.
Hope you liked this overview even tho it is not connected to the Alex Rider Series. If you have anything to add feel free to reach out in the comments or via mail alexriderlocations@online.de!
